Yes, you read correctly. Baby #6 is due Nov 2ish. Although this was somewhat of a shock, we are very excited for another addition to our family. After losing our son at 20 weeks (baby #4), I said baby #5 (Now our Peanut) would be our last because my pregnancy with her was emotionally draining for me, even though everything went perfect. But, God knows better than I (thank goodness), and He has other plans for our family. He knows I can handle this and I am excited that He has decided to create another miracle for us, even though my anxiety is already elevated.......We recently had our 20 week ultrasound and found out this baby has a Single Umbilical Artery (SUA), which means the umbilical cord has one vein and only one artery, instead of the normal 2 arteries. Statistics show that 70-80% of babies with this have no complications. However, there is still that risk that something is or may go wrong. Most commonly it's chromosome problems, heart problems, or kidney problems. We will be seeing a specialist in the near future to get a closer look at everything. We, at this point, are very encouraged that the initial ultrasound shows a perfectly healthy and normal baby, with the exception of the abnormal umbilical cord. We know that God is the maker of this baby and he's got it in His loving hands and He is forming it the way He wants it to be. This is not a surprise or a problem for Him, and we trust in that.
