Tea Party

Saturday my mom invited all of the girls in the family to our first real tea party. My girls were SO excited. They spent all morning picking out their fanciest dresses, hats, and gloves out of the toy box. They told me I had to dress up to, and I grabbed at the opportunity to act 5 again.
When we first arrived, we were treated to punch in fancy tea cups. Then sat around the table for delicious food.
Our first course was a small plate with cream cheese fruit dip spread over the plate. On top of the dip, was fruit arranged to look like flowers. Minime would't eat it because it was too pretty. Eventually she got hungry enough to eat the grape "flower petals" and green apple "stems".
The next course was an array of crackers and toppings, cheese/pickle/ham kabobs, and ham and cheese pinwheels.
The main course was ham and potatoe soup with a side of bread special cut in the shape of Christmas trees and stars.
Just when we thought there couldn't be any more food, out came the dessert. Chocolate cupcakes!
The kids filled up on "girly" conversation with grandma, then went off to play together for the afternoon while us ladies continued to visit around a cup of hot chocolate. It was a fun tea party and LiviJ said, "This is the funnest day ever. I've never had so much food!" They also felt pretty cool being able to leave the house in their dress up clothes. They were living up the "boys not allowed" rule and enjoyed being able to ditch their brother! Mom, thanks for a good time and memories made.
