Rainy Day
What do you do on a rainy morning when you have a 3 yr old who wants nothing more than to go outside, and a 4 yr old that thinks 4 hours until preschool will take FOREVER? Well, of coarse you haul out the "Rainy Day Basket" that Grandma bought for them at our annual school auction. Couldn't have came at a better time. It came complete with fuzzy posters to color, crayons and coloring books, playing cards, crafts, molding clay and some fun baking utensils. First thing this morning the girls hauled out the cookie cutters and wanted to make "finger jelly" and cut them out in the shapes of butterflys, teddy bears, stars, hearts, and flowers. What a great idea. So, here is a picture of their hard work.
Today it was MiniMe's turn to bring snacks for the whole class. In her words, "Everyone gets a turn to be special." She obviously feels pretty special being the one bringing snacks today. I dropped her off and was getting her out of the car and she sighs and says, "Mom, why can't I go in by myself?" I thought, What? It only took you 3 days of preschool to become completely independent from your mother?? I'm just so glad she likes it!
